Ingredients

  • 150 grams canned tuna in olive oil
  • 1 piece baguette
  • 80 grams cream cheese
  • 20 grams capers
  • 30 grams red onion
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • 5 grams fresh parsley
  • 10 ml olive oil
  • to taste black pepper

Cooking instructions

  1. Prepare the baguette — Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices and lightly toast them in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 5-7 minutes until golden and crisp.
  2. Make the tuna spread — Drain the canned tuna and transfer to a bowl. Add cream cheese, finely chopped red onion, chopped capers, lemon juice, and chopped fresh parsley. Mix gently to combine.
  3. Season the mixture — Add black pepper and a drizzle of olive oil to the tuna mixture. Stir carefully to incorporate all flavors.
  4. Assemble crostini — Spread a generous amount of the tuna mixture on each toasted baguette slice.
  5. Garnish and serve — Optionally, garnish each crostini with a small parsley leaf or an extra caper. Serve immediately as a light and flavorful appetizer.
