Ingredients
- 250 grams fresh tuna
- 2 medium ripe avocado
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 small red chili
- 2 pieces spring onions
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 12 pieces mini wonton wrappers
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 5 grams fresh cilantro
Cooking instructions
- Prepare Wonton Cups — Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly brush mini wonton wrappers with olive oil and press them into a mini muffin tin. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crisp. Set aside to cool.
- Dice Tuna and Avocado — Finely dice fresh tuna and ripe avocado into small cubes and place in separate mixing bowls.
- Make Marinade — In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and finely chopped red chili. Stir well to blend flavors.
- Mix Tuna Tartare — Add the marinade to the diced tuna and gently toss to coat evenly. Chop spring onions and add to the tuna mixture along with sesame seeds. Mix gently.
- Combine Avocado — Lightly season avocado cubes with a pinch of salt and a little lime juice to prevent browning. Carefully fold avocado into the tuna mixture, maintaining texture.
- Assemble Tartare Cups — Spoon the spicy tuna avocado tartare into the baked wonton cups generously. Garnish each cup with fresh cilantro leaves.
- Serve — Serve immediately chilled or at room temperature as a flavorful appetizer.
