Ingredients

  • 400 grams tilapia fillets
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 15 ml sesame oil
  • 15 ml rice vinegar
  • 10 grams honey
  • 3 stalks green onions
  • 1 piece red chili pepper
  • 10 grams fresh cilantro
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 1 medium carrot
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Cooking instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade — In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and honey until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Tilapia — Cut tilapia fillets into bite-sized pieces and place in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Vegetables and Herbs — Thinly slice the cucumber and carrot into matchsticks. Chop green onions, red chili pepper, and fresh cilantro.
  4. Assemble the Salad — Drain tilapia pieces from marinade. In a salad bowl, combine tilapia, cucumber, carrot, green onions, chili, and cilantro.
  5. Finish and Serve — Season salad with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine and serve chilled as a refreshing appetizer or light salad.
